Great idea! Instead of members exchanging gifts or ornaments, Shannon asked us to bring food for Silver Key donations to seniors and our favorite quote. I took the following quote/poem:
Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I walked around the corner and someone saw me grin.
When he smiled, I realized I‘d passed it on to him.
I thought about the smile, and then realized its worth.
A single smile like mine could travel round the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick and get the world infected.

Sad Day
Today we had to have our 20-year-old cat, Cinco, put to sleep. You can see a picture of her on my post of Thursday, March 6, 2008. She was much fatter then. She had lost a lot of weight and was having trouble walking. Although she had a reputation for being quite a hisser and scaring small children, we loved her and will miss her soft furr, purring, and antics. Her "brother", Fritz, will be glad that he doesn't have to compete for our attention, but I think he will miss her too. If you have any memories of Cinco, please comment.
